School Pastors

School Pastors, like Street Pastors, are local Christian Volunteers who work in the University Church of England Academy in Ellesmere Port every Friday morning from 8am to 11am. The scheme started in September 2012.

The aim of the School Pastors is to work with and build up trusting relationships with the staff and pupils in the school community. To engage with, help and support pupils in class and those who are experiencing difficulties in some area of their school life, in partnership with their teachers and the Academy.

School Pastors at the Academy primarily support the pupils in year 7 to help the transition they make from Primary to Secondary school. They also make links with some of the feeder primary schools so that the children in year 6 get to know the School Pastors and can recognise them when they attend the Academy.
